Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNO): The Vice Chairman made a detailed visit to the Dal Nigeen Lake, including the Khushalsar and Gisar, further bolstering his initiative in maintaining ecologically sensitive water bodies. This visit comes on the back of the recent handing over of these water bodies to the Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA).
During the visit, Vice Chairman as per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) examined the present state of Dal Nigeen Lake and its connected water bodies and determined areas where immediate conservation activities were necessary. Highlighting LCMA's pivotal role, he spoke again about the importance of efficient management techniques to make these ecosystems both long-term healthy and sustainable.
The visit also emphasized the need for community involvement in conservation activities. Emphasizing the requirement of an integrated approach, he pointed out the importance of scientific studies, people's participation, and sustainable strategies for the conservation of Dal Nigeen Lake and its connected water bodies.
As a part of the existing conservation efforts, the Vice Chairman ordered the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) in time for the conservation, management, and desilting of the lakes—(KNO)
